Child-Centered
PEACE ED emphasizes each child’s unique strengths, interests, challenges, and learning needs, rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach. By listening to children, encouraging their curiosity, and providing them with choices in their learning experiences, PEACE ED sends a strong message that every child is an individual worthy of consideration, dignity, and respect. Ultimately, students are empowered as active and informed participants in the educational process.
neurodiversity-affirming
PEACE ED recognizes and values the many different ways children think, learn, and experience the world. Rather than expecting everyone to fit the same mold, the full spectrum of neurodiversity, including neurodivergence like autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and giftedness, is respected. Brain-based differences are not seen as disorders to be treated or cured, but as natural and important variations of the human experience. PEACE ED seeks to empower ALL children to be themselves, ensuring they have a voice, equal access, and equitable opportunities in the environments where they strive to thrive.
strengths-based
PEACE ED focuses on recognizing and building upon each child’s unique abilities and talents. While challenges are identified and addressed, the emphasis is on what children do well. By leveraging their strengths in learning and everyday life, PEACE ED helps children develop confidence and positive self-esteem. The goal is to support and nurture every student’s development by creating environments where their whole self is noticed, valued, and cultivated.
Educational Testing, Counseling, and IEP Advocacy Services
Presentations
PEACE ED crafts topic-specific, tailor-made, research-informed, and engaging seminars, professional development sessions, town hall meetings, assemblies, and student gatherings. After the event, attendees and educational institutions receive access to presentation slides, comprehensive resources, and reference lists to facilitate continued growth and learning.
Evaluations
A psychoeducational evaluation is a systematic way of gathering information about a child’s overall strengths, challenges, and needs. The process involves reviewing educational records (such as report cards), interviewing key team members (like the family, teachers, and the student themself), observing the child in different settings, and administering questionnaires and direct assessments based on the questions that prompted the evaluation. All of this information contributes to the development of a written report that provides diagnostic conclusions and individualized recommendations. A feedback session is then scheduled to help families and educators (and the child) understand the findings and collaboratively plan for next steps.

Advocacy
Advocacy services include direct support for families during formal educational processes, such as special education or Section 504 meetings, Student Support Team (SST) meetings, and admissions or accommodations discussions in both public and private schools. By understanding families’ concerns and goals, and applying relevant legal and ethical standards, PEACE ED ensures that their voices are heard and that meaningful progress is made toward desired educational outcomes.
Counseling
Counseling services offer an ongoing, collaborative, confidential, and solutions-focused experience designed to help children build essential skills and address common concerns. Evidence-based therapeutic strategies, such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), support children in exploring the connection between their emotions, thoughts, and behaviors. This structured and individualized approach can increase self-awareness, contribute to personal growth, strengthen relationships, and promote meaningful progress toward overall wellness.

Empowerment
Empowerment coaching and consultation services are designed to equip children, families, and educators with the skills and confidence they need to be effective in settings like home, school, and the community. Coaching may include setting goals, discussing evidence-based information, sharing practical strategies, and developing advocacy tools. This approach may be especially beneficial for families outside California or for those who prefer to take a more hands-on role in achieving desired educational outcomes.
